Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in their Indian Premier League match on Monday.
After choosing to bat, Delhi Capitals were restricted to 153/9 by KKR’s tight bowling performance. In response, KKR completed their chase of 154 runs with 21 balls to spare.
In the power play, KKR raced to 79 without losing a wicket, with Phil Salt leading the charge by scoring a blistering 68 off 33 balls, dismantling the Delhi Capitals’ bowling attack.
Earlier, the Delhi Capitals managed 67 runs during their power play, but lost three wickets. The collapse continued after their captain Rishabh Pant, who scored 27 from 20 balls, was dismissed. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav, batting at number nine, contributed an unbeaten 35 off 26 balls to lift the DC total.
Among the standout bowlers for KKR, spinner Varun Chakaravarthy delivered exceptional figures of 3/16 in four overs, while Vaibhav Arora made a notable return, taking the wicket of Shai Hope with a near-perfect delivery.
