IPL 2021 Phase 2: Know the schedule and 8 big things about Phase 2 matches

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has recently confirmed the timetable for the rest of the IPL matches of the IPL 2021 Phase 2. All the 31 T20 matches are going to be held in the United Arab Emirates. Let’s find out the timetable and venue updates.

The 14th season of the Indian Premier League Cricket tournament, which was postponed in May due to the Corona epidemic surge across India, is now going to be started after two days. The Dubai cricket stadium is all set to big in Indian Premier League Phase 2. The first T20 match will be e held between the teams Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

After this, the IPL will be shifted to Abu Dhabi, where the two teams Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders, will be facing each other. It has been said that Sharjah Stadium has been selected for the first game, which is scheduled to be played on the 24th of September. The teams Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be playing this match.

1. Balls will be replaced:

For the upcoming IPL matches, a new rule has been set related to the ball. Now whenever the ball goes into the stands, it will be replaced. In addition, the original wall will be sanitized and kept safe in the ball library. The replacement of the ball is a precautionary measure keeping the covid-19 cases and players’ safety in mind.

2. Saliva will be completely Ban: 

As per the reports of BCCI, there will be a strict ban on using saliva. Earlier, the players used to use their saliva to shine the ball, which has been banned completely. Still, if any team violates the rules, they will be fined five runs by the umpires as the penalty. The Saliva Ban was also imposed in the IPL 2020.

3. Strict bio-bubble: 

All the players who are participating in the Indian Premier League and their family members will be following the strict Bio-Bubble environment rules. This will be applicable to the team owners as well. Therefore, they can only leave the bio bubble in case of a very high emergency, and also, they will have to report to the management and get permission from the BCCI. Hence, anybody’s exit from the bio bubble is prohibited for unusual activities.

4. Green Zone: 

All the players will have a separate check-in Counter at the hotels. This is step has been taken to ensure that there is a complete cut-off from the people in any hotel. This will help the management to ensure the players remain separated from any outside elements throughout the transit of the players from their room to the ground.

5. Mandatory COVID tests: 

Before the player enters the bio bubble, the players who are not coming from any other bio bubble will have to go through RT-PCR tests three times. It will be repeated for seven days. When the report of their RT-PCR test comes negative, they will be allowed to enter into the bio bubble.

6. Bio Bubble Integrity Managers:

A four-member team will be assigned as the ‘bubble integrity managers’ will be observing that there is no violation of the bio bubble in any way. One team will be allotted to each franchise. The committee will be keeping and strict eye on the players and also on the support staff to ensure they are following the rules. In addition, this will be the possibility to update and inform the authorities if there is any breach of the bio bubble protocols.

7. One hotel for one team: 

The BCCI and the officials have taken one for the tab to prevent any possibility of risk. They will be ensuring that nobody can join other team members at the hotel. Therefore, BCCI has taken this step for the teams that they should try to book the entire hotels for the squad. In case booking of the entire Hotel is not possible, at least an entire wing of that Hotel should be reserved for the team. Also so this part would remain sealed off for the person who is not part of the team. This step has been taken to minimize the possibilities of any physical interaction of the outsiders with the team.

8. Mandatory quarantine period survival: 

The players coming from the UK, which includes the Indian team, will have to survive the mandatory six days Quarantine period. Apart from this, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, and Cheteshwar Pujara arrived in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

IPL Stadium and Venue Details

In the IPL Phase 2, a total of 31 T20 matches will be played on United Arab Emirates grounds. The complete details of these stadiums and venues have not been disclosed by the BCCI. However, it has been confirmed that all the 31 T20 matches will be completed in the next 20 days off, starting the IPL Phase 2. The matches will be played in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah Stadium.

IPL 2021 Matches and Timings

Based on the earlier timings of the IPL matches, all matches took place in two timings. One is the daytime and the second is the evening time. Indian Premier League Phase 2 New date and timings have arrived. According to the timings, the first slot of the IPL matches will be played at 3:30 p.m. And the second slot will be e played in the evening at 7:00 p.m. All these timings will be remaining the same on the United Arab Emirates Grounds as well.
