Mike Jackson is pressing charges against Jake Shields after an altercation at the UFC Performance Institute.

Earlier this week, Shields was featured in a viral social media video that landed him in legal trouble. The former Strikeforce middleweight got into a physical altercation with Jackson, which originated from online arguments.

During an interview with MMA Junkie, ‘The Truth’ had this to say when asked if he was pressing charges:

“Yeah, well, I’m gonna follow up with the PI. I told them, ‘Hey, press charges.’ They said ok… You can’t just walk around assaulting people and think there’s no consequences for your actions. You can’t do that. You know what I’m saying? And all the people who support him, cool, support him. These people don’t matter either.”

In the viral video, Shields was seen slapping Jackson. ‘The Truth’ pleaded with bystanders to intervene, leading to the altercation de-escalating.

Mike Jackson continues to label Jake Shields a ‘Nazi’

Mike Jackson’s interview with MMA Junkie revealed his side of the story.

The argument allegedly started with Jackson calling Jake Shields ‘racist’ online. Shields confronted him at the UFC PI, leading to a physical altercation. ‘The Truth’ stated that he tried to avoid the situation but called the former Strikeforce champion a Nazi, which wasn’t appreciated by his rival.

Since the video surfaced on social media, Jackson has been actively defending himself against fans and fighters. Jackson has doubled down on his claims of Shields being a Nazi by saying this on Twitter:

“A thug nazi can’t humiliate me @jakeshieldsajj. And I guess this is my best comeback.”

Shields retired from MMA in 2018 with a record of 33-11-1. Although he is not fighting for the UFC, the former Strikeforce champion makes frequent appearances at UFC PI to train with other fighters.

Meanwhile, Jackson holds a 1-2 MMA record with all three fights under the UFC banner. ‘The Truth’ fought twice in 2022, winning his first fight by disqualification against Dean Barry and then losing to Pete Rodriguez by a vicious knockout. He is currently still listed on the UFC roster.
