Conor McGregor has promised to showcase a more diverse skillset on his return to the octagon. ‘Notorious’ recently went on a Twitter rant, covering a variety of topics including a potential move up to middleweight and Dana White’s Power Slap League.

A fan urged McGregor to put more of his wrestling game on display on his return to the octagon. Mr_Mojo @PaulieLennon wrote:

“Replying to @TheNotoriousMMA As a big fan, you need to show your wrestling skills off next fight. It’s called MMA for a reason. You’re strong and flexible, work em”

The former UFC double champ promised to showcase additions to his game as he believes the public is at the “perfect point” to understand the nuances of his game. Vowing to put on an unforgettable display for fans, the Dubliner wrote in a now-deleted tweet:

“I’m definitely going to enjoy showing more of my game. I feel I’ve the public/peers at the perfect point where they are getting to understand my work deeper. They will see these positions for what they are vs flapping out of them in the booth, unaware. This lesson is to the grave”

While Conor McGregor is primarily known for his exceptional striking, the Dubliner isn’t bad at wrestling. McGregor has a commendable takedown defense rate of 66% while landing 55% of his own.

‘Notorious’ is seemingly further honing his wrestling skillset as he plots a comeback next year. McGregor, in his new beardless look, recently posted a video of himself grappling with two different sparring partners. The Irishman looked pretty impressive stuffing a takedown while saying ‘No no no’. Claiming to be great in all aspects of the sport, ‘Notorious’ wrote in the caption:

“Shit hot everywhere. The real goat. There’s not a place I’m not great. Some of your goats can’t even kick. Watch my wrist work here. At some points you see my opponent has the illusion of the control of my wrist but I use this silliness to open doors with it. I open the door to go right into full mount. Then later I open the door right to the rib cage for my knee to land flush. It’s using the opponents control of your wrist as a lever. Watch and see can you see. Leave a comment and tag your pal, the Mac is back, with another lesson on defend and attack ❤️”
