As their fight edges closer, KSI claimed that he expects to do “some serious damage” to Dillon Danis, prompting a response from Conor McGregor who labeled the YouTube star a “friendly little nerd”.

‘JJ’ has been embroiled in a social media feud with the BJJ Black Belt for years and will finally get to settle his differences when they step into the ring on January 14. Although many don’t consider ‘El Jefe’ a “real boxer”, it is arguably a huge step up from his last two opponents despite Pineda having a nine-fight boxing record.

Responding to KSI’s comments on Twitter, Conor McGregor admitted that he “couldn’t care less” about the boxing spectacle that is dominating the sport and would like to see Dillon Danis return to MMA.

“Brother, you’re a friendly little nerd, I don’t care. He should be back doing MMA if he is doing this little nothing-burger match with you. I couldn’t care less about this genre of boxing, I am sorry. Have a good one.”

Scheduled to headline MF & DAZN X Series 4, KSI and Dillon Danis will be center stage accompanied by a number of well-known celebrities hailing from across the globe.

Famous British DJ Tom Zanetti will face the undefeated YouTube star Slim Albaher, and popular UK music artist Swarmz—a former opponent of KSI—will compete in his second boxing bout, alongside other big names.

This is Dillon Danis’ first fight in combat sports since his submission win at Bellator 222 over three years ago. It has been so long since the jiu-jitsu practitioner fought that Rory MacDonald was Bellator welterweight champion, had seven more bouts since defending his gold to Neiman Gracie, and has since retired from MMA.

Is Conor McGregor interested in competing against influencers in the boxing ring?

Despite already announcing his dislike of the new wave of influencer boxers in his tweet to KSI, Conor McGregor seemingly later showed some interest by asking one fan if the fights include belts for the winners.

After a Twitter user stated that the former two-division UFC champion would soon be fighting in that “genre” of boxing, the lightweight responded with a question of his own.

While it looks like he was making a joke of the situation, Conor McGregor has previously stated “never say never” when it comes to fighting Jake Paul, who is the most established fighter to emerge from the ‘social media boxing’ era.
